During the summer, lots of cultural events take place in Carinthia, for example at Stadttheater Klagenfurt (the town theatre), at Wörthersee Seebühne (a floating stage) or the Comedy Festival at Schloss Porcia in Spittal, the performances at the Burgruine Finkenstein (arena at the castle ruins of Finkenstein) on Lake Faakersee or the Carinthian Summer Music Festival at Stift Ossiach – there is sure to be something for every taste. The Wörthersee Kärnten Card offers reduced entry to museums.  

Sports

Our hotel has several bicycles you may use for your excursions. There is a bicycle path that will take you almost all the way round the lake. Apart from that, there are lots of beautiful bicycle tours in the surroundings. The River Drau cycle path, which is particularly impressive in terms of scenic beauty, is within easy reach.

A number of wonderfully picturesque hiking trails invite you to leisurely walks or Nordic Walking tours. For especially ambitious hikers, we recommend the new circular routes all the way round the lake. With the Wörthersee Kärnten Card you can take part in free, guided tours in Carinthia’s breathtaking mountains.

Down by the beach you can hire pedal boats and electric boats. At Charlie’s water-skiing school you can take a spin on skis or enjoy the panoramic scenery on a spectacular flight with a special kind of parachute.

Well-tended tennis courts are provided at the resort.

For those of you interested in golf, we being members of Golfland Kärnten, offer a 20% reduction on the green fee at 12 golf courses. We will be happy to book tee times in advance.

There is a small riding stable within 5 minutes drive where riding lessons are offered for beginners and advanced. You can also go on a nice outing on horseback. They additionally offer therapeutic riding.

Ironman Austria

A spectacular event that takes place every year in early July and has 2,500 active participants and about 100,000 enthusiastic spectators along the routes. We sponsor the event and you as a participant of this large-scale sports event will also get to know the absolute stars of this sport right at our hotel. In 2009, for example, the winner of the ladies competition, Bella Bayliss, and her husband Stephan who came in third in the men’s race were guests of our hotel.

As an active participant you are welcome to keep your expensive bikes inside your room. In order to give our “iron men” a great start before the competition, we offer an excellent breakfast at four o’clock in the morning. We will also be happy to organise a boat transfer from our beach to the starting area.
